Drive to destinations: caves and coves
On the western side of the island is where you will find the island’s (and one of Greece’s) most photographed spots – Shipwreck Cove, also known as Navagio Beach. Its turquoise waters, white sand and sheer cliffs are a spectacular site. The best view of the beach however, is from above, on top of the cliffs. In order to reach the viewpoint, you will need a car, as the closest public transport only stops at the town of Anafonitria, 5 km away. Once there, follow the little path around the cliff to admire the views. The Blue Caves are another hotspot. These geological formations owe their name and beauty to the reflective blue water inside them.
