Avis age requirements
How old do you have to be to rent a car from Avis?
When renting a car with Avis in the UK, you must be at least 23 years old and have held your full driving licence for a minimum of one year.
Those under 25 are required to pay a young driver surcharge between 32.50 and 37.70 per day. If you rent a car for an extended length of time, you will only be charged for a maximum of 10 days.
In France, you must be a minimum of 21 years old to rent a vehicle with Avis.
If you are between the ages of 21-24, you will have to pay a surcharge of €32.60 per day. This fee applies to the primary driver as well as any additional drivers.
All ages must have held their licence of at least one year to hire a car.
Drivers as young as 21 may rent a vehicle with Avis in Spain if they have held their licence for a minimum of one year.
A young driver fee is also required for those under 25. This charge will vary depending on pick up location, but on average you can expect it to be between €20.95 and €25.
