The franchise car hire brand was established in 2007 in the UK, and has since expanded throughout the country’s major airports and across the globe. It offers its customers vehicles with low CO2 emissions, including hybrid options, for extremely affordable rates. Green Motion is currently expanding its fleet with the latest eco-friendly cars.
Green Motion age requirements
How old do you have to be to rent a car from Green Motion?
In the UK, Green Motion’s Ts&Cs state that you must be a minimum of 21 years old and maximum of 80 in order to rent a vehicle.
Young drivers age 21-24 are require to pay a surcharge of £38.50 per day, and they may only rent small manual cars.
Regardless of age, all drivers must have held their licence for at least two years to rent with Green Motion.
Drivers as young as 20 are allowed to rent with Green Motion in Iceland as long as they have held their full licence for two years.
There is no young driver surcharge required for those under 25.
In Italy, young drivers between the ages of 21-24 are permitted to rent a vehicle from Green Motion.
However, they are required to have held their licence for two years and pay a fee of €19 per day. This surcharged is included in the online price but only payable at the desk.
