Moseley Old Hall
A three storey Elizabethan farmhouse, Moseley Old Hall has an unexpected dramatic history. In 1651, King Charles II arrived at the house disguised in workman’s clothes, after fleeing the Battle of Worcester. The king hid here from Cromwell’s troops in a priest hole and then rested in a four-poster bed – both of which can still be seen on a tour of the house. The old hall is encompassed by a precisely kept knot garden and fruit orchard. Within close driving distance of Wolverhampton, it makes a great family trip. Plus, parking at the hall is free for visitors.
